A cumulative sum chart is commonly used in quality control methods to detect deviations from benchmark values. It is also used to detect deviation of key performance indicator from a benchmark trend.

To create a CUSUM variable:

Click Transform > CUSUM in the menu.
Enter CUSUM name. For example: CUSUM-Production.
Select Record set, if required.
Select Normalize settings. For more information, see Normalized.
Select from the Variables list, if required.
Select Index. Usually the timestamp variable is selected by default.
Select Variable.
Click Save.

Find a variable

Variables are listed alphabetically. To find a variable, use the scroll bar or enter the name in the search field .

Visualize the CUSUM on a trend

Create a trend to visualize your CUSUM result.

To create Trend:

Click More Actions > Create Trend.
Select another variable from the list, if required. The CUSUM and the timestamp variables are automatically selected.

Fill curve

In Advanced tab, check the Fill Curves checkbox. It can improve the CUSUM visualization.
